Polymers from upcycled tires and plastic bags are added to Malarkey's proprietary NEX® Polymer Modified (Rubberized) Asphalt formulation rubberizes the asphalt core of the shingle to improve shingle strength and durability, while reducing landfill waste – extending product life.
Windsor® Scotchgard™ shingles have up to 40% greater tear strength and 65% greater granule retention than the industry standard (ASTM D3462), and meet the stringent IBHS FORTIFIED™ Roof requirements.
Each average-sized roof of Windsor® Scotchgard™ shingles diverts the equivalent of ~7 tires and ~7,100 plastic bags from the landfill.
